New Year’s Resolution

Posted on January 2, 2009

Mine is to be a better blogger! Though I guess the holidays get to all of us, I fell crazily behind in virtually every way. But I shouldn’t have to travel anywhere for about four months at least, and I’m about to go into book mode (book four of the EVERNIGHT series is about to get started), so things should be a bit quieter for me. Hopefully this means more frequent posts.

Besides, with STARGAZER coming out in just three months (time flies!), I’ll have more news to share, I think.

Some bits of preliminary information — not quite news yet, but maybe worth knowing:

1) I should be going on tour again this summer. That’s absolutely all I know at this point: no cities, dates or anything else confirmed. I have minimal input into where I go, but I will try to let the publisher know where there’s interest.

2) This is very uncertain, but it looks like IMMORTAL — aka, the vampire anthology that somehow never got into bookstores ever — might get a rerelease in 2009. This rerelease would involve the anthology actually reaching bookstores this time. If it comes together, I’ll definitely let you all know right away.

Hope everyone out there had a great holiday season!

PS: It has come to my attention that there’s some EVERNIGHT fanfic out there. I just wanted to take this opportunity to say that, in my opinion, this is awesome.

I always thought this was one of the coolest things about being a writer, when you find people are doing fanfic. That they liked your world enough to want to play in it and expand it.

Technically it was released — but instead of the thousands of bookstores it was supposed to reach, it got into a couple dozen. Hopefully we’ll do better the next time around!

Oh…the waiting is killing me! I want to know what happens next!
A tour is a great thing…but I guess you won’t be coming to Spain, right? Urgg…I hate to live so far away from all the fun!

Well, I guess you already know, but the book is really successful here. And is not so commun for a young-adult novel to be that successful over here. Spainish readers are not that much into fiction, but your amazing book, Harry Potter and Twilight have been sort of a phenomenon! And I am so glad for it!
So, I hope that, in time, your work would be so well known here, that you would have to come! I’d love that!

Ohh, There are fanfics?! *looks for them*

I wish you would come to Puerto Rico, almost nobody ever comes to Puerto Rico. :( I haven’t even seen the book at Borders. *bought it on Amazon*

Anyway, I’m so excited for Stargazer! There are a bunch of great books coming out on March! It’s going to be a great month (more like April, since most of them are being released the two weeks of March. LOL) for reading on my part. :D

I’m contracted for four. I would love to do more with the EVERNIGHT series, but that’s up to the publisher. Let’s keep our fingers crossed.

I’d love that too. Sure, let’s keep our fingers crossed. ^^ Anyway, can I ask when will the synopsis for book 3 come out? I’m so excited for book 2 that I can wait to hear about book 3 to try and guess some possible outcomes. (:

I sat down last night and read Evernight front to back. I couldn’t put it down. I love your writing style, and the way you made your characters come to life. I am excited about the second book, and the books to come. Thank you for your work and sharing it with us. :D

My New Years Resolution: Sit down, relax and read more. :)

      Have a wonderful day/night!!!

I’m excited to hear you are starting work on Book 4! That’s going to be the last one, right? I can’t wait to read them all and know how the story ends!

Hopefully IMMORTAL will get a second chance in 2009. I LOVED learning more about Patrice in the story you wrote for it (I was lucky enough to win a copy for you, so I never noticed that it had problems getting on the bookshelf).

    Happy 2009!

Book Four is the last in the series so far as I am now contracted, and certainly it wraps up the story arc that begins in EVERNIGHT. I think it is going to be called AFTERLIFE, unless some bolt of inspiration strikes.

And I am so glad you enjoyed Patrice’s story — I, too, hope we can get IMMORTAL out there a little bit more.

I bought Immortal at Borders around Nov 2008!!

Hey, I just wanted to clarify that I saw and immediately bought Immortal (the anthology of vampire stories including one by P.C. Cast right?) back in November. I remember it was before Twilight the movie released and I was delighted to find something to bide my time and I had just finished the House of Night series so I recognized P.C. Cast. It’s a great book! But I was surprised that I never saw it at Barnes & Noble or online stores. I even think the cover said it was a Border’s Exclusive! could that be right? Is that what went wrong? Anyway, just wanted you to know it did go to Borders and I bought immediately and loved it! I also LOVE Evernight and can’t wait for Stargazer!
