Writer’s Block: Immigration

Posted on August 7, 2008

There are tons of places I’m fascinated by — Argentina! Canada! Japan! Spain! — but the first choice would have to be either Ireland or the United Kingdom. One of my very best friends lives in Northern Ireland, and were I to relocate to a whole other country, I know I’d want a good friend by my side.

By the way — I’m back from Mississippi! My new nephew Ari is indeed adorable, as is newly appointed Senior Nephew Eli, and I got to spend plenty of time with them and my whole family. I don’t have much time for a long post, because the Backspace writing conference is underway, and I’ve got a panel to moderate tomorrow that I, uh, might not have begun preparing yet. Some furious note-taking must occur. But I will check in soon with a longer travelogue.

I missed you guys!

Ugh the United Kingdom. I’ve wanted to go there so badly this year, because it’s just so historical and lovely and full of Monty Python goodness, to name a few reasons. Family friends live there, too, which would be nice.

    Those are such cute names.

I think we should lobby the UN to start a project to relocate Ireland so it’s off the US’s eastern seaboard. That would be much handier for all concerned.

Glad you’re home! I want to hear all about it.

I’m glad you had a nice time in Mississippi and are back safely! We missed you as well.

I love writer’s block questions. I think I’d go to France, possibly Argentina. Maaaaybe Italy.

Italy indeed! And not only because I’m Italian and I live here LOL
I really think you could find some inspiration. But Ireland sounds so charming too. I’d go to Spain probably, though.

Btw, just finished reading Evernight, and I loved it! My friend was visiting me a couple of days ago and she left it to me so that I could read it too.
I’m not sure when Evernight will come out in Italy, though. Is there any good update you can give me on that front? I’d really love to buy it for my best friend, but she doesn’t understand English that much to read an entire book, so it would be difficult, if not impossible, for her to go through it.

Btw, I hope you don’t mind if I friend you so that I can keep up with your updates 😉
Can’t wait for stargazer to come out! 😉 I’ll keep myself busy with Immortal in the meantime.
