Tyson’s Corner, VA — BE THERE!

Posted on June 25, 2009

Just reminding you guys in the DC area that I’ll be appearing (together with the fabulous Elizabeth Scott) at the Barnes & Noble in Tyson’s Corner, VA on Saturday, June 27 at 1 p.m. That’s this Saturday! I hope to see some of you guys there! I don’t think we are doing any major event — just hanging out and signing — but that’s all the more reason to come by, because I hope to really have a chance to talk with some of you.

I’m hanging out watching the death tribute documentaries for Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson. For people of Generation X, this is basically watching our childhoods crumble. I remember running around pretending to be one of Charlie’s Angels in first grade (though, as I could already read, I always played Sabrina, the Kate Jackson character, instead of Jill. Such is kindergarten.) And “Thriller”! I think I can do the Thriller dance from memory. Rumor has it that there might be a Thriller dance tomorrow in Times Square; if so, I AM THERE.

I must be of a similar age to you then, although it was my older friends who’d play Charlie’s Angels (thanks to many, many repeats)

    Watching my childhood crumble

You are so on point when you say watching your childhood crumble. I feel exactly the same way. I guess we all have to say goodbye to the past and live for the future, but we can always sit back and day dream of the good times we had. Oh,by the way your books are wonderful! I bought and read them in 2 days. Ok, so I am a bit old to read books geared more for teens but I read them before my daughter. Thanks for being such a good writer she will love the books.

Cool web site my students put together for Stargazer

    Hi Claudia-

Here is the web address for a cool web site my 6th graders created for Stargazer. It was for my literacy class… and they worked together as a team to complete it. I thought you might be interested!

    Take care. I loved Stargazer!

PS Hope your signing with Lisa went well. We had Lisa sign in Oceanside, CA along with Cassadra Clare this past February! She’s awesome!
