not quite on the plane yet —

Posted on April 4, 2008

— though I will be soon. I just had to post to share this really terrific review of Evernight up now at TeensReadToo. I’m so excited!

Other good things happening this morning:

* I just saw the cover art for Stargazer, and it’s AMAZING. (Will share when I return –)

* Amazon kindly delivered my copy of Elizabeth Scott’s Perfect You just in time for me to read it on the plane.

* I think I actually packed everything I need, thanks to you guys.

Next post is from Ireland —

EEEEEEEEEEeeeee! Look at that review! SO AWESOME.

Stargazer! What was the decision with the cover art? All MC? Or differing characters? Dying to know!

This comment has many !!!!, but all are deserved! :D!

Oh, huzzah! What a fantastic review! And like I didn’t want to read the book badly enough ALREADY. (I was plugging you like crazy today on ‘s LJ, for the record. I think I have at least two more readers for Evernight when it comes out.)

I hope you have a wonderful time in Ireland!

Oh, and did you get the book I mooched for you yet? No big deal, I just need to know when it arrives so I can give credit to the person who sent it. Thanks!

My students would LOVE to read and review the ARCs for Evernight and book 2!

    Hi Claudia,
My name is Beth Duncan and I am a middle school teacher in Vista, CA. My students read books and write reviews for Barnes and Noble. Our program is called Recommended Read, and it is extremely successful! I am the lucky winner of an ARC copy of Evernight through Harper Teen. I really loved the book- and I would love to have my kids read and review Evernight and book 2 once ARCs are available. I read some of your blogs and saw that you wanted to have teens read and recommend your books. Look no further- we would love to help! Please post a comment if you can and let me know where I can email you to talk about the possibilities. Thank you so much!

    Beth Duncan

PS Evernight was SO good. I am an avid reader- mostly YA and YR so I can recommend them to my students. Evernight will be a favorite [worthy of losing sleep and skipping meals] in my teacher bookshelf. 😉

Thanks so much, Beth! I’m delighted that you enjoyed the book and hope your students will like it too; definitely e-mail me at evernightclaudia at gmail dot com so we can figure something out. (I should warn you that I’m traveling this week — in Ireland right now — so I might be a bit slow in replying until Friday or so.)

I also have put together a PDF for teachers/librarians to use when discussing Evernight with a class — would you like a copy?

Thanks again for getting in touch! Great feedback like this makes even vacation more fun.

Re: My students would LOVE to read and review the ARCs for Evernight and Stargazer!

Excellent! Thanks for your reply- from Ireland!!! I would love the PDF for classroom use. We always look in-depth at character development, plot… and writer’s style. YOU, by the way, have amazing writer’s style. 😉

Is the ARC getting ready to print for Stargazer? It sounds like it’s close- with the cover finished. Have a wonderful vacation, and I will email you with my contact information. Once you get back, we can talk. If you’re interested, I’ll forward you my review for Harper Teen on Evernight.

Thanks again, and I hope your vacation is wonderful.

        Sincerely,
        Beth Duncan
