ATPOY Release Day thanks and gratitude (and blog tour info!)

Posted on November 4, 2014

A THOUSAND PIECES OF YOU finally went on sale today! I’m out here on the Compelling Reads tour (coming to Greenville, SC tomorrow), trying to write and travel, and so I’ve been completely unable to keep up with all the wonderful support and good energy you guys have been sending my way. But here’s my best attempt!

First of all, obviously I owe great thanks to my agent, Diana Fox, the editor who worked with me on the book, Sarah Landis, my publicist Dana Kaye, and the other pros who have kept me and this book on track. Couldn’t go anywhere without them.

Also, I’d like to thank so many of you bloggers who have reviewed the book, singing its praises, and otherwise getting the word out there. Jaime Arnold and Sara Gundell have been true standouts — Jaime for organizing my blog tour (via her RockStar Book Tours) when I was too strung out to even come close to handling it myself, and Novel Novice for advice on swag, emotional support and making A THOUSAND PIECES OF YOU her Novel of the Month for November. (She’s already posted some gorgeous wallpapers — check them out here!) But every blogger who has participated in the chapter reveals or the blog tour has been wonderful: Novel Novice with Chapter One, Alice Marvels with Chapter Two, Two Chicks on Books with Chapter Three, and Fangirlish with Chapter Four. They got the beginning of the book out there first, and I’m hugely grateful for that.

And the bloggers from my book tour! I’ve tried to tweet a link to every one, but in case I (or you) missed one, here are the posts:

Day One — The Midnight Garden  — guest post on why I had to write A THOUSAND PIECES OF YOU

Day Two — Tales of the Ravenous Reader  — interview

Day Three — Bookhounds YA  — review

Day Four — Dark Faerie Tales — interview with Paul Markov

Day Five — Reading YA Rocks — looking back at the ATPOY first draft

Day Six — Parajunkee  — interview

Day Seven — Two Chicks on Books — important songs from the ATPOY playlist

Day Eight will be a guest post on Magical Urban Fantasy Reads, Day Nine will be a review on Me, My Shelf and I, and we wind it all up on Day Ten with another review on Page Turners Blog. EVERY SINGLE ONE of these bloggers: Thanks a thousand times for this.

And as I mentioned earlier, I’m out on the Compelling Reads tour, spreading the ATPOY joy through the Carolinas. So I want to give a shoutout to all the great writers involved, especially Martina Boone, author of COMPULSION, who put this whole thing together like the organizational mastermind she is. I share a book birthday with Kimberley Griffith Little, and her atmospheric, ancient-times YA epic FORBIDDEN. I share a Mini Cooper, many hours of driving and a similarly twisted sense of humor with S.E. Green, author of KILLER INSTINCT. Meagan Spooner visited with her SKYLARK trilogy, as did Megan Shepherd with THE MADMAN’S DAUGHTER and the fabulous Beth Revis with THE BODY ELECTRIC. These ladies have been great to travel with, appear with and have a lot of fun with. Also, great love for every single bookstore or library who’s hosted us on the tour. We couldn’t do it without them!

But really, most of all, I am grateful to you guys, the readers. Already so many of you have said kind things on Amazon or Goodreads, expressed your eagerness to read the book, or — in the cases of those who got ARCs — have already read it and taken the characters to heart. As you can read in my guest post about why I had to write ATPOY, all I ever really wanted was to share Marguerite, Paul, Theo, Henry, Sophia, Josie and Conley with other people so we could all talk about them together. Let the talking begin. 🙂

I´m in the middle of the book (68 % according to my kindle) and it has been a wonderful read so far. The Russiaverse has been amazing, and the characters are so lovely. Congratulations for your great work, I hope it gets to be as successful as it deserves.

I’m so, so glad you’re enjoying it so far! Please tell your friends about the book – that’s what always makes the difference, in the end. 🙂

I just finished ATPOY last night/this morning and it was practically super glued to my hands. I think the only question I have is when the next Firebird book coming out because I cannot wait to see what’s in store next, and i think I will potentially disintegrate into ecstatic excitement when the release date is announced. Thank you for writing such an amazing book (once again)!

Thanks so much! I am thrilled you’re enjoying it. Next one comes out in November 2015 – but I hope to write some short stories for y’all in the meantime.

Took me a little to get going (I usually start and finish books in a day :-/ ) but now I’m into it (just hit Russiaverse) I’m really hoping very much there’ll be another…and soon 😀

This both thrills and hurts my heart, because I so wish you’d found the book! You may have to order it; definitely let the store owners know you want them to stock it! Stuff like this makes a difference.
